Police Blotter April 23rd to April 25th

April 22nd

Shoplifter – Safeway: 11450 San Pablo Avenue:

At 0837 hours, two officers were alerted by Safeway employees of a male running westbound on San Pablo Ave who had just stolen items from the store. The male fled northbound on San Pablo Ave. carrying a Safeway basket full of items. The subject fled when officers told him to stop. The suspect, a 51 year old Richmond man was caught shortly thereafter. He was booked and transported to the County Jail.

Shoplifter – Lucky’s: 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 0946 hours, An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a juvenile who was caught stealing food. Her parents were contacted and she was released.

Shoplifter – Safeway: 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1341 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 52 year old Richmond woman for stealing $215.00 in food. She was booked and released.

Auto Burglary – 10057 San Pablo Avenue
At 1149 hours, an officer responded to the report of a vehicle that was broken unto. The suspect was described a black male, 50 years old, 6’ tall and wearing a gray jacket and white tee-shirt.

Shoplifter – Marshall’s: 10794 San Pablo Ave –
At 1502 hours, an officer responded to the report of a 43 year old Berkeley woman stealing clothing items. She was placed under citizen’s arrest by loss prevention. She was booked and released on a citation.

Auto Burglary – Starbucks, 11861 San Pablo Ave:
Sometime between 2050 and 2054 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a backpack containing power tools.

Auto Burglary – Starbucks, 11861 San Pablo Ave:
Sometime between 2035 and 2050 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the passenger side rear window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a camera case and camera.

Vandalism – Moeser Square, 10546 San Pablo Ave:
Sometime between 2030 and 2125 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the rear wing window of the victim’s vehicle but no property was taken.

Auto Burglary – Trevino’s, 11795 San Pablo Ave:
Sometime between 2130 and 2150 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the passenger side window of the victim’s truck and removed a brief case containing misc. tools and an iPad.

Auto Burglary – El Mono, 10264 San Pablo Ave:
Sometime between 2015 and 2150 hour, an unknown suspect shattered a rear window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a backpack containing school books.

April 23rd

Shoplift, Warrant – Chevron, 11319 San Pablo Ave:
At 1930 hours, an officer responded to a theft which just occurred at Chevron and located the 52 year old male suspect from Richmond nearby. The man was positively identified as the suspect and placed under citizen arrest. He was also wanted on a no cite Alameda County warrant. He was booked at the ECPD, cited on the new charges, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility on the warrant.

Child Abuse Carlson Blvd/ Central Avenue
At 1236 hours, an alert bus driver noticed a three year old walking by himself in traffic at a busy intersection. The driver talked the boy onto the bus and notified the Police Department. Officers were able to figure out that the boy had been at a nearby apartment. Officers contacted the 52 year old woman who was supposed to be watching the child. She was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and passed out. The boy apparently walked out of the apartment undetected. The boy’s parents were summoned to the scene. The woman was arrested for child endangerment, booked and released on a citation.

Carjacking - San Pablo Ave / Schmidt Lane:
At 1430 hours, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s office pursued vehicle driven by a subject wanted for a violent felony. During the pursuit, the suspect attempted to steal two vehicles by force but was unsuccessful. The subject was also involved in several hit and run traffic collisions. The subject was taken into custody at the end of the pursuit and booked on numerous felony charges. (Previous Nixle release regarding this incident)

April 24th

Stolen Vehicle - 11870 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0749 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto theft. An unidentified suspect stole a Ford van overnight.

Minor Injury Collision - IFO 10621 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1142 hours, an officer responded to the report of a collision. A vehicle collided with a parked car and knocked it onto the sidewalk.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 1900 block of Key Blvd:
At 1223 hours, an officer located a stolen Chevrolet Camaro parked in the driveway of a residence. The vehicle and miscellaneous parts that had been removed from the vehicle were recovered.

Warrant – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1915 hours, an officer contacted a 31 year old male transient and arrested him on a no cite Solano County Warrant. He was booked at ECPD and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
