Over the past week, the Green Bay Police Department has received three reports of home invasions

Over the past week the Green Bay Police Department has received three reports of home invasions (hot prowl burglaries) on the near east side. (100 BLK of S. Irwin Ave, 300 BLK of S. Clay St and 100 BLK of S. Roosevelt).

Three female victims have reported they have awoken to find a male suspect in their homes. The suspect has been found standing over the victims. In the last incident, the male held a knife and attempted to sexually assault the victim.

Victims in all three cases described the suspect as an African American male, thin build, 5’5” to 5’8”, possibly early 20’s, The male was wearing dark clothing and a dark hoodie. Victims have reported the suspect has fled on foot each time.

As we review each incident, investigators look for patters/similarities to determine if all three incidents are related. We believe the suspect has entered through unlocked doors and has committed these acts during in the hours of darkness. The determination into whether or not the crimes are related are unknown but we would like to caution the public.

Here are some crime prevention tips to protect yourself:
• Lock all your doors and windows
• Keep a light on in and outside your house
• If you see someone acting suspicious call the police
• Speak with your neighbors and work with one another to keep the neighborhoods safe

Community Service Interns will be in the neighborhoods mentioned above distributing information about this incident. Chief Smith will hold a press conference at the community policing center on 315 S. Baird St at 4:30 PM. Please direct all media inquiries to this date and time.
