Texting While Driving is Dangerous 
El Cerrito Officers want you to know: Sending or receiving a text message takes a driver's eyes off the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, the equivalent of driving blind at 55 mph for the length of an entire football field. We are out on San Pablo Ave. this morning. Using the same equation, texting while driving at 35 mph means a driver travels 240 feet without looking at the road. Please be careful.
