SUSPECT(S): Unknown, Black Female
VICTIM(S): Michael Kern, age 62 of Highland
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at approximately 2:42 p.m., deputies from the Highland Police Department responded to the area of Sterling Avenue and Jane Street following the report of a hit and run traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that the victim, Michael Kern, was attempting to cross Sterling Avenue at Jane Street from west to east. When Mr. Kern reached the center turn lane of Sterling he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Sterling. A witness identified the vehicle as a gold Chevrolet Cavalier with license plate 4ARL153. The suspect driving the vehicle was described as a black female. A second witness advised deputies that they saw the vehicle pull into the parking lot of Brian's Burgers, then travel westbound onto Baseline prior to the deputies arrival.
The victim was transported to Loma Linda with minor injuries and abrasions. Deputies attempted to identify the owner of the vehicle based off the license plate, but have been unsuccessful. Anyone with information or whereabouts of this vehicle or the driver is asked to contact the Highland Police Department.
