Monterey Park Police Department participating in "Denim Day." 
On Wednesday April 27, 2016, the men and women of the Monterey Park Police Department will be participating in Denim Day in honor of Sexual Violence Awarness a campaign by the Peace Over Violence group. Monterey Park Police Personnel will show their support by wearing jeans.
The campaign was originally triggered by a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court. They overturned a rape conviction because they believed the victim consented to the act because she was wearing tight jeans thereby the suspect could not have removed her jeans without her assistance thus implying consent. The following day the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim.
