LOCATION: Fenwick Rd near Allchin Rd., Fairplain Township

On Friday, April 22, 2016 at approximately 4:58 p.m. Montcalm County Central Dispatch received a report of a dark blue SUV traveling westbound on West Fenwick Road driven by a 42 year old male. He had driven off the roadway, over a stump, and then back on the roadway. Witnesses reported the vehicle then left eastbound. The driver subsequently lost control on Fenwick Road near Allchin Road and ran off the roadway. The vehicle overturned and the driver was ejected.
Due to his injuries, the 42 year old Lyons man was airlifted to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by Aero-med. Seatbelts do not appear to have been used. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
