Chief Smith Announces FBI National Academy Graduation of Captain Jeremy Muraski

Green Bay Police Department Chief Andrew Smith is pleased to announce that Captain Jeremy Muraski recently graduated from the FBI's National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia. The 263rd session of the National Academy included participants from 47 states, the District of Columbia, and 27 international countries. Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe was the principal speaker at the graduation ceremony.

Participants in the FBI's National Academy Program must be invited to attend. It is a very exclusive group as less than one percent of law enforcement executives are ever chosen to participate.
Chief Smith stated, “Completion of the FBI National Academy program is a significant accomplishment which will help us to continue to provide excellent service to the citizens of Green Bay”. Chief Smith is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, having graduated from session 206. The Green Bay Police Department currently has 4 active FBI National Academy Graduates.

Captain Muraski said, "I feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to participate in the preeminent law enforcement training academy. By learning from and networking with law enforcement colleagues from around the nation and the world, I have gained a much broader perspective of the challenges facing law enforcement and society. I strongly believe that this will give me a good foundation for helping to prepare our agency for the many strategic challenges that lie ahead."

Captain Muraski has been with the Green Bay Police Department for 18 years having been hired in March of 1998. Prior to being employed by the Green Bay Police Department he graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science and Law with a Criminal Justice Certificate.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy Program offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and physical fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. Training is provided by FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of who are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise. Classes are accredited through the University of Virginia and students are able to earn undergraduate and graduate credits for the classes.
