Burglary Suspects Arrested

At approximately 9:08 am, Chief Dennis Bitters of the Ripon Consolidated Fire District called the Ripon Police Department reporting three suspicious subjects in a vehicle in a local neighborhood. Chief Bitters provided police dispatch with a wealth of information including a suspect descriptions, the vehicle description, license plate number, and information on the suspect's movements. A second Ripon citizen saw one of the suspects entering a neighbor's back yard in the 900 block of Cooper Court.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes and the suspect vehicle was stopped as it was leaving the neighborhood. The driver was found to be driving on a suspended license. A ski mask and narcotics paraphernalia were observed in the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located concentrated cannabis and burglary tools. The three suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Joseph Oliva (18) of San Jose, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, possession of concentrated cannabis and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Garrett Mathew Sena (19) of Oakdale was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A male juvenile (15) of San Jose was booked into the San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall on charges that included attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy.

Department Spokesperson, Lt. Steve Merchant said the call the department received from Fire Chief Bitters was the key to apprehending these suspects.
