**Update** Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested, City of Industry Local Store, April 19, 2016 #LASD (Photos Attached)
On April 19, 2016, detectives from Industry Station reached out to the community and local news to help identify this robbery suspect.
On February 23, 2016, the suspect entered the “Sears” in the Puente Hills Mall. There, he left with a pair of boots without paying. He was stopped by loss prevention, where the suspect pointed a pistol at the employee, and left the location.
On Tuesday, April 19, 2016, shortly after our request for help from the public, an anonymous caller provided information leading to the identification, and later arrest of Suspect Gerardo Garcia, 28. He was arrested and booked at Industry Sheriff’s Station for Armed Robbery and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
During Suspect Garcia’s arrest, the firearm used during the commissions of the crime and the boots stolen were recovered.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Industry Station detectives are seeking additional information and the public’s assistance regarding an armed robbery that occurred at a Sears Department Store in the 1600 block of Azusa Avenue, Industry. The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.
The suspect stole a pair of work boots from the location, and as he attempted to exit the store he was confronted by the victim, a loss prevention officer. As the victim attempted to detain the suspect for shoplifting, the suspect produced a firearm from his pants pocket, pointed it at the victim, and cocked the hammer. Fearing for her safety, the victim put her hands up and walked away from the suspect. The suspect then fled from the location possibly in a 1990’s model Nissan Maxima with faded black paint. A partial license plate was seen and began with “7A”.
The suspect is described as a 20-25 year-old male Hispanic adult with a tattoo on his right forearm and on the back of his neck.
