RPD-Traffic and Safety Advisory-

Riverside residents –

Today, Thursday April 21, 2016 the construction project at First and Forest Ridgewood began. This interceptor project will last approximately 18 months and may be intermittent depending on weather. Today, lanes were shut down on First Ave and Forest.

The Riverside Police Department has hired a second crossing guard at that location to ensure school safety for children to cross the intersection through the end of this year.

Additionally, the Community Service Officer and Patrol Officers have been given a written directives to increase patrols in the area and parking and traffic enforcement to help further ensure the safety of students that travel to and from school using Forest and Ridgewood.

Riverside Police Department has been in constant contact with Riverside Brookfield High School District 208 and District 96 and they have been updated and kept informed on all changes that have been made at this intersection.
