Details:
On Monday, April 17, 2016, at approximately 0420 hours, Corcoran Police initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Sherman Avenue. The driver was identified as Jorge Martinez, 27, of Visalia. During the stop Martinez was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested. A passenger, Gloria Chavarria, 34, of Corcoran, was also determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was also arrested. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located approximately 0.2 grams of methamphetamine.
Both were charged with Transportation and Possession of Methamphetamine and Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. Both subjects were held for 6 hours and subsequently released on signed promises to appear.
