Car stolen, 100 block of Sunset Ave., recovered 5500 block of Allentown Blvd. Taken between Monday and Tuesday.

The Lower Paxton Police Department is investigating an auto theft, which occurred in the 100 block of Sunset Ave. The car was taken sometime between Monday the 14th at 9:00 AM and Tuesday the 15th at 9:00 AM. The car is a 2005 Pontiac Grand AM, gold in color, with Pennsylvania registration plates.

The vehicle was recovered on Wednesday December 16th at 3:00 AM, in the parking lot of McDonald's, 5590 Allentown Blvd. It appears that the car may have been left unlocked, with a key in it. Attached is a photo of a 2005 Grand AM.

We encourage the public to keep their cars locked and not to leave a “spare” key in their cars. Even if a car is kept locked, some car thieves can open a car door without a key. If you leave a spare key in your car, you are defeating the purpose of locking it to begin with.

If anyone has information on this crime, please call the Lower Paxton Police at 717-657-5656 or information may be left anonymously on our TIP LINE at 717-635-2606. In emergencies, 911 should be dialed.
