Anderson University will conduct a police training exercise to prepare for the possibility of a gun-related incident today, Thursday, April 14, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. AU law enforcement and emergency response agencies from nearby communities will be involved in the training exercise. The training exercise will be conducted at the northwest corner of the campus near Decker Hall at the intersection of 5th Street and College Drive.

Residents from nearby neighborhoods, businesses and commuters will see and hear police activity during the training exercise. Anderson University requests that the community refrain from gathering near the training area, posting pictures or information related to the training on social media. Posting information and pictures about the training on social media could pose safety risks for officers who are training, in the event someone misunderstands the activity.
