Detectives arrest a registered sex offender for sexual abuse that occurred in 1994-1995

VICTIM: #1 – Confidential, 14-15 years old at time of occurrence
#2 – Confidential, 11-12 years old at time of occurrence
SUSPECT: Jody Haralson, age 56, resident of Hacienda Heights, Ca.
SUMMARY:
On April 23, 2015, Victim #1 reported to his local law enforcement agency in Florida he and his younger brother (Victim #2) were sexually molested by the suspect, Jody Haralson, in 1994-1995. The molestations occurred in San Bernardino, Devore, and Phelan. The report was forwarded to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigations Division, Crimes Against Children Detail took over the investigation. Through investigation, detectives learned Victim #1 and Haralson met and worked at the Renaissance Faire in Devore during 1994-1995. Haralson eventually befriended Victim #1 as well as his younger brother, Victim #2. According to statements provided by the victims, Haralson engaged in oral copulation with Victim #1 and Victim #2 multiple times during a twelve month period. Detectives also discovered Haralson is a registered sex offender, per Penal Code section 290, in California for unrelated offenses. His information is available to the public on the Megan’s Law website.
Investigators conducted interviews with Haralson and subsequently arrested and booked him into the West Valley Detention Center. He was booked for PC 288a(b)(2), Oral Copulation, victim under 16 year of age, suspect over 21 years of age. Haralson is being held on $100,000 bail. Haralson’s booking photograph is being released in the event Haralson victimized other children.
