CPD to use helicopter to catch speeders.

April 1, 2016
Ceres Police Department
Public Information Unit
Office of Chief Brent Smith

Ceres CA- In an effort to curb speeding in town, the Ceres Police Department is joining forces with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Air unit.

Officers with CPD will be high in the sky using a special radar obtained by the United States Air Force. This radar is able to obtain speed from a vehicle at any angle. After obtaining the speed of the violator, the pilot will then pull over the speeder, safely of course.

CPD obtained a grant from the federal government in the amount of $10,000,000. This will pay for many enforcement operations.

April Fools.
