Update on Trump Rally Sexual Assault and Disturbance
At the March 29th Trump political rally, a disturbance occurred in a crowd of protestors that resulted in the allegation of a sexual assault and the OC/pepper spraying of a 15 year-old Janesville female.
Within ten minutes of the conclusion of the Trump speech, Chief David Moore held a pre-scheduled press conference. In this press conference the Chief provided a summary of events that had occurred during the day. Among these events, the Chief reported an alleged sexual assault and the use of OC spray on a 15 year female. These were point-in-time comments and were based upon victim statements.
Following the Trump political rally, the sexual assault allegations and OC spray use were assigned to the Department’s Detective Division.
Investigators were able to use video, witness accounts and interviews to determine that no sexual assault occurred and that the 15 year-old female had thrown a punch and struck a 59 year-old male in the face. The male did not want to pursue battery charges against the 15 year-old female. Detectives referred the female to Juvenile Authorities on disorderly conduct charges.
Detectives are still seeking the identity of the male that sprayed the 15 year-old female with OC spray.
Anyone that may know the identity of this male should contact the Janesville Police Department at 608-755-3100 or Janesville Area Crime Stoppers at 608-756-3636.
