Welfare Check Ends in Arrest

On Friday March 25th at 2:35 pm Morgan Hill Police and Morgan Hill Fire responded to Wal-Mart located at 170 Cochrane Rd to check the welfare of a female. Officers arrived at the store and spoke with the Asset Protection Manager. The Manager told the Officers a female went into the restroom, locked the door and refused to come out. The Manager also told the Officers the female and a male subject were seen by a Loss Prevention Officer cutting the tags off merchandise with a red knife. Based on the information and the way the female was acting, Morgan Hill Fire unlocked the door to the restroom. Once the door was opened, the Officer located the female who had two backpacks full of numerous store items; the female was also wearing a white Wal-Mart dress which she had not paid for. The male subject was contacted outside the restroom. The male initially gave a false name because he thought he had warrants for his arrest.

The female was identified as Alexias Wilson 19 from Modesto; she was arrested and booked for commercial burglary and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The male was identified as Dangelo Webster 19 out of San Jose; he was arrested and booked for commercial burglary, providing a false name to a peace officer and violation of probation.
