Stranger Danger / Suspicious Circumstances

On March 25, 2016, at approximately 3:27 PM, the Menlo Park Police Department received a call from a resident reporting that their 12-year old son, was approached by two subjects in a vehicle as he was walking home in the area of Sharon Road and Alameda de las Pulgas in Menlo Park. The juvenile stated that after pulling up alongside him, the occupants of the vehicle asked him if he was running late and then told him to get into their car. The juvenile responded by saying “no” and then quickly walked away. The vehicle and its occupants were last seen driving northbound on Alameda de las Pulgas from Sharon Road.

The occupants of the vehicle are described as possibly being Hispanic males and in their twenties. The vehicle they were in was described as an older, silver 4-door sedan.

At this time, it is unknown if these subjects were actually trying to get the boy into their car or just trying to scare him. Regardless, the Menlo Park Police Department would like to remind parents of the importance of talking with their children about Stranger Danger and what to do if ever approached and solicited by strangers. Additional information and videos on how to keep our kids safe can be found at www.pollyklaas.org.
