Do not become a victim of an IRS based phone scam.

Today a person flagged down an ECPD Officer and asked directions to the local IRS building which he was unable to find. Knowing there is not a local office, the Officer asked why the person was looking for it.

He explained that he was called by the IRS and ordered to bring thousands of dollars in cash there where they would be waiting for him. He just got the cash from his bank but couldn't find the address for their building.

The Officer explained to the person that this was a scam and told him to take his money back to his bank.
