Suspicious Person at Spring Grove Bank

On Tuesday March 15, 2016, just after 9:00 am, officers were requested at the Santander Bank, 100 blk. of West Hanover St, Spring Grove, due to a suspicious person who had just left the bank.

As officers arrived, security persons with the business had already reviewed a video of the subject. The video revealed that the suspicious subject had a handgun within a purse that they held. The handgun was never displayed where bank personnel could observe the weapon and no threats were made. The subject left the bank without incident when employees asked the subject for personal information.

Officers found a witness that observed this same suspicious person walking within a block of the bank prior to the incident at the bank. It is believed that approx one (1) hour after this incident occurred, this same subject committed a robbery of a bank in York City.

We are hoping to identify this person. The subject is described as a black male that was dressed as a women wearing a black trench coat, black and red Chicago Blackhawks cap, multi-colored scarf wrapped around his head, sunglasses, lipstick and walked with a cane.

If you can advise the location of this person or know the identity of this person, we are asking that you call the Southwestern Regional Police at 717.225.1333 ext. 100 or York County Dispatch at 717.854.5571.
