PRESS RELEASE: Suspect Arrested in Attempted Theft of Pool Equipment
On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at approximately 9:32 PM, PSPD received a report of a pool pump theft alarm at a vacation rental home in the 1600 block of Via Roberto Miguel. PSPD Patrol Officers responded to the location and observed the suspect, David Anderson, in the backyard of the home. PSPD Officers also located a vehicle parked in the front of the home while the home was reported to be unoccupied. Anderson fled on foot over a rear fence but was apprehended by officers as he returned to the area of the vehicle a few minutes later.
PSPD discovered that the pool pump had been removed and moved to another area of the yard. The power supply lines to the pump were damaged. A natural gas line supplying the pool heater had been cut and it was found to be leaking natural gas. PSFD responded to the location and secured the gas leak without incident.
