Menlo Park Police Department presented with statewide community policing award

On Monday, March 14, 2016, Menlo Park Police Department was recognized at the California Police Chiefs Association Training Symposium as one of the top three California police agency finalists for the 2016 James Q Wilson Award for Excellence in Community Policing.

Ultimately, Livingston Police Department, was the recipient of the 2016 James Q. Wilson Award for Excellence in Community Policing for their “Mental Health and Police in Schools” Program; however, Menlo Park and Long Beach departments were also acknowledged as award finalists. Mayor Richard Cline, Chief Bob Jonsen and Commander William Dixon were on hand to receive the award.
