Please be aware that police personnel may not become actively involved in any transactions unless criminal activity is involved, and will not participate in the exchange of cash or the storing or transferring of items. Also, transactions related to weapons will not be allowed.
Lockport Police offers building as a safe place to conduct exchanges from online sales
The Lockport Police Department would like residents to be aware that the police department, located at 1212 S. Farrell Rd, may be used as a safe place to exchange money and items from online purchases.
With the rise in online trading in which buyer and seller must meet to complete private transactions, the safety of those involved is a primary concern. Although the vast majority of these transactions are perfectly safe, risks can include theft, robberies, and physical threats or harm. Residents seeking a safe place to conduct these transactions are free to utilize the vestibule and the parking area immediately in front of the police department. This area is under 24 hour video surveillance.
