Indianapolis - Earlier this evening 55 year old Lamont Williams of Indianapolis was arrested by the Indiana State Police on a warrant for two counts of sexual misconduct and one count of official misconduct. The arrest stemmed from an investigation that began in July, 2015 at the Indiana Women's Prison when an inmate contacted prison officials with allegations involving Williams, a former guard at the prison. The Indiana Women's Prison notified the Indiana State Police to investigate. The female inmate gave details of two separate accounts of sexual contact with Williams, one in October of 2014 and the second in January of 2015. During the course of the investigation several interviews were conducted and evidence was collected then submitted to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for analysis. The results of the evidentiary analysis were received by Detective Billings on March 2nd, 2016 and subsequently the case was presented to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office for review. Earlier today a warrant was issued for Williams' arrest and he was located in Indianapolis and taken into custody without incident. Lamont Williams is being held on a $15,000 bond at the Marion County Adult Processing Center.

The allegations against Lamont Williams are very serious, and as with all criminal investigations, required a very thorough investigation. Detectives from the Indiana State Police conducted a thorough and detailed investigation that spanned several months.

County III: Official Misconduct I.C. 35-44.1-1-1(1) - Level 6 Felony
