ECPD investigating an attempted burglary of a gun store. 
On March 5, 2016, at 0534 hours, El Cerrito patrol officers were dispatched to the Old West Gun Room (3509 Carlson Boulevard) for a burglar alarm activation. Upon arrival on scene, officers located a broken window at the front of the business but the suspects had fled the scene. Due to heightened security measures taken by the shop owner, the burglars were unable to gain entry. Video surveillance footage shows four suspects fleeing the property upon the alarm sounding. Approximately two hours later, several suspects burglarized a gun store in Petaluma. ECPD and Petaluma PD investigators are working together since the crimes appear to be committed by the same individuals. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact:
