February 14th

Warrant – Belmont Ave / San Diego St:
At 1845 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 36 year old man from Oakland on a Los Angeles County warrant. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Possession of Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave / Moeser Lane:
At 2114 hours, an officer Perales conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 66 year old man from Berkeley for possession of methamphetamines. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

DUI – San Pablo Ave / Central Ave:
At 0048 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 26 year old female driver from Richmond for DUI. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Domestic Battery, Battery with Great Bodily Injury – Potrero Ave / I-80:
At 0159 hours, an officer was flagged down a female who reported to have just been hit her in the face by her ex-boyfriend. The 55 year old male suspect was located nearby and arrested. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to county jail.

February 15th

Warrant Arrest - Sonoma Ave. / Charles Ave:
At 0730 hours, an officer arrested a 34 year old Richmond woman during a pedestrian stop on a burglary warrant during a pedestrian stop. She was booked and transported to the county jail.

February 16th

Possession of Controlled Substance/Prohibited weapon – Central Ave / San Luis St:
At 0155 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 35 year old transient female for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. The woman was also found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

February 17th

Robbery/ Probation violation – Luckys 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter who had fought with a security guard after exiting the business with stolen merchandise. Officers contacted a 20 year old San Pablo man who was placed under citizen’s arrest by staff. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving under the influence/Probation violation – 76 Gas Station 3160 Carlson Blvd
At 1916 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a possible stolen vehicle which had been taken from the gas station moments earlier. Officers spotted the vehicle and contacted a 40 year old Richmond woman driving the vehicle. The woman was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and in violation of the provisions of her probation. The vehicle the woman was driving could not be confirmed as being stolen. The woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

February 18th

Battery – Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2000 hours, 3 men entered the business and attacked one of the store employees with their fists before fleeing the store. The victim knew his attackers but refused to provide police with information as to their identity.

Burglary – 1500 block of Liberty St:
Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary and learned that an unknown suspect had forced entry into a home via a rear kitchen door. The burglar took jewelry and coin before leaving the home. The burglary occurred sometime between 0715 and 1900 hours.

February 19th

Attempted Commercial Burglary - 11880 San Pablo Avenue
At approximately 0537 hours, Officers responded to an alarm at the Banana Thai Leaf restaurant and found the front window had been shattered. An unknown suspect used an unknown tool to shatter a portion of the front window; however no entry was made into the business.

Residential Burglary – 700 block of Pomona Ave.
Between 02-18-2016 at 1920 and 02-21-2016 at 0915 hours, an unidentified suspect pried open a sliding glass door, entered the house and stole a laptop, cash and misc. jewelry.

Residential Burglar – 900 block of Shevlin Dr
Between 02-10-2016 at 0945 hours and 02-19-2015 at 0930 hours, an unidentified suspect pried open a sliding glass door, entered and stole over $15,000 in tools and misc household items.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Key Blvd at Humboldt Ave
At 1343 hours, an officer located a stolen 1999 Honda Civic. The Honda was reported as stolen to the RPD yesterday.

Warrant – S. 52nd St / Fray:
At 2358 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 25 year old female from San Pablo on a Marin County warrant. She was released on a citation.

Public Intoxication – Blue Moon, 9937 San Pablo Ave:
At 0051 hours, officers responded to a patron at the Blue Moon throwing barstools around and causing problems. A heavily intoxicated 27 year old female from Albany was contacted and immediately became confrontational. She was arrested and transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility where she was booked into county jail.

Possess Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0058 hours, an officer arrested a 46 year old female from Pinole for possession of methamphetamines and a glass pipe. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Manila Ave:
At 0218 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 63 year old man from San Pablo on a Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

February 20th

Arrest for Vandalism and Probation Violation – 11267 San Pablo Ave
At approximately 0725 hours, officers responded to the report of a woman throwing a brick through the front window of the business. Officers located a 69 year old female from Richmond in the parking lot of 11299 San Pablo Avenue. The female was positively identified by a witness and she was holding a brick when contacted. The female was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the County Jail. The female was on misdemeanor probation for theft.

Petty Theft – Lucky 1000 EC Plaza
At approximately 1002 hours, two black female adults stole food items, including a birthday cake and a bag of shrimp.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Cutting Blvd.
At approximately 1640 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 55 year old male from Oakland on two controlled substance related warrants, one which was a No Bail. The male was also a sex registrant. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the County Jail.

Shoplifting Arrest – Lucky 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At approximately 1654 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 30 year old male from San Leandro for shoplifting misc. food items. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

February 21st

Vandalism – 2000 block Key Blvd:
Between 02-20-2016 at 1200 and 02-21-2016 at 1300 hours, an unknown suspect attempted to gain access to the mail inside several mailboxes but was unsuccessful and damaged the mail boxes in the process.

Grand Theft – 300 block Carmel Ave:
At 1631 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft from auto. A firefighter left his work truck unsecured and over $5000 in EMS equipment was stolen.

Possess Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave / Potrero Ave:
At 2109 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 49 year old man from Livermore for possession of methamphetamines and a pipe. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

February 22nd

Stolen vehicle – 1700 block of Arlington Blvd.
At 1902 hours, an officer learned that the victim’s 2003 Ford F-250 was stolen while he was in the hospital in Oakland.

February 23rd

Warrant Arrest- Cutting Blvd. / Peerless St.
At 0814 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the 38-year-old male driver from Richmond for two Alameda County warrants. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest- S.55th St. / School St.
At 1411 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the 54-year-old male from Richmond for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle/Plates Recovery – 11900 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 2356 hours, an officer located a stolen Honda Civic, which also had a stolen license plate affixed.

Battery – San Pablo Ave. / Madison Ave.
At 2211 hours, an officer responded to the Richmond Kaiser hospital and contacted a 27-year-old Richmond woman who claimed an unknown male attacked her earlier in the evening. The woman was reluctant to provide police with any additional information several attempts to contact her went unanswered.

Arson/Hate Crime – 1500 block of Arlington Blvd.
At 0322 hours, officers responded to a residence on the report of an arson attempt to a vehicle in the driveway of a residence. Officers located two partially burnt logs under the vehicle, which had been extinguished by the homeowner. Located near the vehicle was a handwritten sign expressing hate speech towards the homeowner.

February 24th

Domestic Battery-5900 block of Lassen Ave.
At 0945 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a female hitting a male inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the male and female who were married and have a young child together. Because of the confrontation, the 28-year-old female resident of El Cerrito was placed under arrest and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking, the female was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest- 10800 Block of San Pablo Ave.
At 1447 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the passenger, a 27-year-old female from Sacramento for an outstanding Oakland Police Department warrant. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1753 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 53-year-old Richmond man after he entered the store and stole merchandise. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released with a citation.

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1938 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 29-year-old Castro Valley man after he entered the store and stole merchandise. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released with a citation.

Aid to Allied Agency – 6400 Cutting Blvd.
At 2010 hours, ECPD officers responded to assist BART PD with an armed robbery suspect that had ran from BART officers while they attempted to take him into custody. An ECPD officer located the 24-year-old Richmond man several blocks away and took him into custody before turning him over to BART
.
Attempted Robbery – Lexington Ave. / Hill St.
While assisting BART PD with their armed robbery suspect, Officers learned of an attempted robbery, which had occurred in El Cerrito around the same time BART PD had attempted to take the 24-year-old Richmond man into custody for another robbery. The victim identified the same man as the responsible party in the attempted robbery. The man remained in the custody of the BART PD.

Domestic Battery – Blake St. / Kearney St.
At 2120 hours, officers responded to an incident involving a woman and her boyfriend. During the investigation, officers learned the 21-year-old El Cerrito woman had scratched and hit her boyfriend during the argument. The woman was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery – BART Path/Fairmount Ave
At 2146 hours, officers responded to the report of a robbery where a weapon had been used. Officers contacted the victim who had a small laceration to her arm, which was caused by an unknown sharp object as the suspect removed the victim’s backpack from her shoulder. The suspect was described as a black male adult wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 2143 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 61-year-old Oakland man after loss prevention contacted the man as he pushed a cart full of merchandise out of the store. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released with a citation.

Drunk in Public – 6400 Cutting Blvd.
At 0008 hours, officers responded to the area to search for a shoplifting suspect. Officers contacted a 49-year-old Pinole man who matched the description given by dispatch of the theft suspect. The man was verbally aggressive towards officers and was intoxicated. The man determined not to be involved in the theft but was unable to care for himself and was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

February 25th

Theft from Vehicle- 1000 Block of Contra Costa Dr.
An officer reported an unknown suspect accessed the victim’s vehicle via a rolled down window and stole property. The theft occurred in between 2/24@1045-2/25@1245 hours.

Mental health evaluation – 6400 block of Portola Dr.
Officers were dispatched to a missing juvenile from the residence following an argument between him and his mother. The 16-year-old male made threats of suicide before walking to his aunt’s house. The male was committed to a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation and transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center by AMR.

Armed robbery – BART Path / Blake St.
At 2320 hours, a suspect approached the victim and brandished a firearm. The suspect demanded the victim’s property and fled on foot after receiving it.

February 26th

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – Carlson Blvd / San Jose St:
At 1747 hours, an officer located a stolen black 2000 Honda Civic. The vehicle was reported stolen to Fairfield PD on 2/11/16.

Shoplifting, Resisting an Officer – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1858 hours, an officer was at Safeway on another call when he was flagged down regarding a known theft suspect loading merchandise into reusable Safeway bags he stole from an unstaffed register upon entering. The officer contacted the 52 year old Richmond man as he passed through and unstaffed check stand. The man immediately became combative. He was taken into custody with the help of other officers and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department were he was booked and released to the hospital.

DUI – San Pablo Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 0208 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 22 year old man from Hercules for DUI. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

February 27th

Auto Theft 7300 block of Hotchkiss Avenue:
At 0918 hours, an officer responded to the report of a stolen brown 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. The vehicle was stolen in between 1800 hours on 02-26-2016 and 0800 hours on 02-27-2016.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 700 block of Colusa Ave:
At 1013 hours, an officer located an unoccupied 2003 Ford F250 which had been reported as stolen to the San Rafael Police Department.

Methamphetamine Possession – 11400 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 1145 hours, an officer contacted 44 year old transient man who was on probation for burglary. He found to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and controlled substance paraphernalia. He also had a pearl broche for which he claimed to have found at the BART station. It was taken for observation. He was booked and released on a citation.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery - Carlson Blvd / San Jose Ave:
At 1720 hours, an officer located a Honda which was reported as stolen to the RPD.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – Van Fleet / Santa Clara:
At 2124 hours, an office located a stolen blue 1195 Honda Civic. The vehicle was reported stolen to Suisun City Police on 02/18/16.

February 28th

Battery - 11940 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0740 hours, an officer responded to the report of a battery. A black male, approximately 20 years old, 5’11”, short cropped hair, wearing a blue sweater elbowed a pregnant woman at the Laundromat. He fled on a brown four door vehicle, northbound on San Pablo Avenue after the victim’s husband told him he was calling the police.

Residential Burglary - 6600 block of Hill Street:
At 0816 hours, officers responded to the report of a suspicious circumstance. The reporting party heard glass breaking and a black male, approximately 20 years old, with long braided hair, approximately 6’00” with a thin build, wearing gray sweatpants and a white tees shirt was reported as+ getting into a white Mercedes or BMW. Officer arrived and found the subject was leaving the side yard carrying the victim’s property. Officers chased the subject to the 6600 block of Cutting Blvd where he disappeared into yards. The victim’s property was recovered.

Battery - BART Path / Fairmount Avenue:
At 1002 hours, an officer responded to the report of a battery. A jogger was shoved to the ground as she ran by a black male adult, approximately 50 years old, 5’11” medium build, wearing a black leather jacket, gray/red scarf and a gray baseball cap.

Battery – 2000 block of Tapscott Dr:
At 1218 hours, an officer responded to the report of a battery. A 29 year old male (Modesto) got into a physical altercation with a family member. The family member suffered serious injuries. The suspect fled the scene in a U-Haul truck.

Warrant – State Ave / S. 49th Street:
At 1932 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 29 year old Richmond man on a Santa Barbara County warrant. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession Controlled Substance & Probation Violation – San Pablo Ave / Sutter Ave:
At 2024 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 53 year old man from El Cerrito for possession of methamphetamines and a probation violation. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant (X2) – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0158 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 39 year old man from Richmond on two no bail warrants, one issued by Contra Costa County and the second issued by San Francisco. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

February 29th

Auto Theft - 11700 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1215 hours, an officer responded to the report of the theft of a white 1992 GMC Sierra truck. It was stolen in between 02/28 at 2030 hours and 02/29 at 0800 hours.

Warrant, Possess Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia – 11511 San Pablo Ave:
At 2254 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 21 year old female driver from Orangevale on an El Dorado County warrant. The 25 year old male passenger from Placerville was found to be in possession of methamphetamines and a glass pipe and arrested. Both were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The female was transported to county jail on the warrant and the male was released on a citation.
