Felon in Possession of Firearm, Narcotics for Sale, and Child Endangerment

On 02/25/16 at 12:30 pm, Detectives from Menlo Park Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Clarke Avenue and Bay Road in East Palo Alto.

The driver of the vehicle, Jameel Collins, 36 years old, out of Menlo Park, was contacted and found to have a large amount of marijuana and a digital scale in plain view and in arms reach of his 5 year old child. Further investigation lead to the discovery of a concealed firearm and large quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription painkillers all packaged for sale.

Additionally, Collins was found to be out on bail for prior drug sales charges.

Collins was booked into San Mateo County Jail for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession for sales of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, prescription painkillers, marijuana, and child endangerment.
