On February 25th at 9:45 am, missing juvenile James Herrington, was located within one mile of his residence, almost thirteen hours after being reported missing. James is in good health and has been reunited with his family. The investigation indicates that he may have slept in some shrubbery in an unknown park during the hours he was missing. James was located when a civic-minded citizen, who is also an employee of the Rohnert Park Unified School District, observed him walking in the area of Davis Circle, in Rohnert Park. She contacted James and appropriately notified authorities, providing an updated description of James and his direction of travel.
Of note, the reporting party became aware of the situation through inter-office communication within the school district, and through a Nixle alert posted on the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) Facebook page. The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety would like to extend our gratitude to all members of the community that receive and respond to social media alerts through Nixle and the RPDPS Facebook page. Also, we would like to thank the Press Democrat for quickly placing the story online. Our community is safest when we work together, thank you.
