The Green Bay Police Department is investigating the passing of counterfeit money as pictured below. On or around February 20th, 2016, businesses in the Green Bay area were victimized by the use of this counterfeit bill. Employees of those businesses quickly realized the bill was not real and the situation to be suspicious and contacted police. This led to the questioning of the person attempting to pass one of these bills. The investigation is ongoing, but we are urging businesses to be vigilant using counterfeit pens and check for water marks in the bill prior to accepting any large bill. Also, be cautious of someone buying something of smaller value with a larger bill. No further information will be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
