Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives have identified the shooting victim as 18-year-old Giovanni Lyiscott and suspect 53-year-old Anderson Lyiscott.  The victim was the suspect’s son.   

The investigation is on-going, and there is no additional information available at this time.

LOCATION:          17400 Block of Prondall Court, Carson

VICTIM:                Male black Adult

UNIT:                    Homicide Bureau – Lieutenant Coleman

NARRATIVE:

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide detectives responded to the 17400 block of Prondall Court, Carson, and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult. The incident occurred shortly before 6:16 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2016.

Detectives have learned that the victim, an 18 year-old man, was in his bedroom when an argument ensued between him and his father. During the argument, a physical confrontation occurred at which time his father produced a firearm. A struggle over the firearm occurred and one round was fired striking the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, the 53 year-old father of the victim, was arrested and booked for murder. 

There is no additional information available at this time, and the investigation is on-going.
