*Update* #LASD Homicide Dets Responding to 11800 Blk of 223rd St., Hawaiian Gardens, 3 Women Dead

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of the bodies of three women on Monday, February 15, 2016, in the 11800 block of 223rd Street, Hawaiian Gardens.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m., a relative of the three victims went to the residence to check on their welfare and discovered an elderly, Asian female deceased inside.  An emergent call was then dispatched to the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) whose personnel arrived, and summoned Lakewood Station deputies.

The deputies arrived, entered the residence and found the elderly, Asian female deceased in a bedroom. The deputies then entered a detached garage at the rear of the residence, and as they opened the door, were overcome by a strong chemical odor.  Two female Asian adults were subsequently discovered, also deceased, on the floor of the detached garage where a vehicle was left with its engine running.

LACoFD personnel along with (LASD) HazMat Detail detectives rendered the scene safe.

Three LASD deputies were transported to a local hospital for treatment and later released.

The source of the chemical odor is undetermined at this time and a thorough search of the residence and garage is being conducted.

All three deceased victims were related and resided at the home.

The cause of death will be determined at a later date by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner – Coroner.

The motive is unknown and there is no additional information available at this time.
