*Update* #LASD - Homicide Detectives Responded to Deputy-Involved Shooting, Lancaster

*ADDRESS CORRECTION*

On Thursday, February 11, 2016, at approximately 6:48 PM, the suspect got into an argument with one of his neighbors.  The suspect, a male white 45 years old, had an axe, swung it at his neighbor several times, and threatened to kill him.

Deputies responded to the location and contacted the suspect at his home in the 2800 block of La Vida Drive.  The suspect was standing on his front lawn holding the axe.  The deputies ordered the suspect to drop the axe but he refused and started to walk toward them. One of the deputies fired several rounds at him from a stun bag shotgun, but it did not effect the suspect.  The suspect raised the axe up so it was partially above his head and walked toward the deputies.  The deputies then shot the suspect.

He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The axe was recovered at the scene.  It is approximately four feet long.

The investigation is still ongoing.

There is no further information at this time.
