*Update* #LASD Armed Barricaded Suspect Found Deceased at Location, 12000blk Los Coyotes Av, La Mirada

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Crisis Negotiations Team made numerous attempts to bring about a peaceful resolution tonight in La Mirada, however contact with the armed barricaded suspect was unsuccessful.  Special Enforcement Bureau deputies made entry into the location and found a male adult inside deceased.

Homicide investigators have assumed command of the investigation, where it appears that the armed barricaded suspect died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The identity of the deceased will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE IS AS FOLLOWS:

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Special Weapons Team has responded to the 12000 block of Los Coyotes Avenue, La Mirada, to assist Norwalk Station deputies regarding an Armed Barricaded Suspect.

SEB deputies have assumed command of the tactical response and Crisis Negotiation Team personnel are also on scene to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.

Surrounding homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents.

There is no additional information available at this time.
