Advisory

Winter Weather Advisory in effect for the State of NH now thru noon on Tuesday Feb.9.

National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire State of New Hampshire from noon today until noon tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 9.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6am this morning to 6am Tuesday for coastal Rockingham County. There is also a Winter Weather Advisory in effect throughout the state from noon today to noon Tuesday. Both are the result of long duration snowfall expected later today into Tuesday.

Light fluffy snow will move into the state this morning to early afternoon and continue into tonight. Some light snow could continue into Tuesday afternoon but much of the accumulation will be over by Tuesday morning. Temperatures today and Tuesday will be in the mid to upper 20s and around freezing on Wednesday. Coastal communities could see wind gusts up to 30mph.

No concern for sleet, freezing rain or ice accretion.

From the NWS: A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

From the NWS: A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
