January 29th

Residential Burglary Arrest (2015 Case) – 2500 block of Carquinez Ave
At approximately 0848 hours, San Pablo PD officers arrested a 23 year old male from San Pablo on an El Cerrito PD arrest burglary warrant. The male was transported to El Cerrito PD and was interviewed by detectives. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility

Petty Theft – 10200 San Pablo Ave
On January 27th, 2016, between 1100-1800 hours, an unknown suspect stole checks from the business. The suspect attempted to cash the checks in Oakland and Albany ($5000).

Theft from Person and Elder Abuse Arrest – 11555 San Pablo Ave
At approximately 1519 hours, a citizen came to the aide of an elderly male, whom a 51 year old female suspect from Richmond, and her husband, accused of hitting their parked vehicle. (No collision could be substantiated). During the accusation, the female took the elderly males glasses off his face and held them until he paid them money. The female suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Burglary – Eastshore Blvd / Potrero Ave:
Sometime between 0400 an 1615 hours, an unknown suspect broke the front passenger door window on the victim’s vehicle and stole the car stereo, CD, and a USB adaptor. The suspect also entered the engine compartment and stole the car battery.

Residential Burglary – 1700 block Ganges Street:
Between 1650 and 1715 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s, ransacked the bedrooms, and took cash and jewelry. The victim’s neighbor saw a black male, possibly 20s or 30s, 6-2 to 6-3, 200 pounds, dark rain coat and dark backpack walking from the backyard of the victim’s residence.

Possession of Stolen Property – Lincoln Ave/Kearney St:
An officer arrested a 58 year old man from El Cerrito after the man was found to be in possession of property stolen from front yard of residences in the area. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to county jail.

Possess Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave/Moeser Ln.
An officer arrested a 47 year old male for possession of a syringe containing suspected methamphetamine and a baggie containing methamphetamines. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

January 30th

Robbery Arrest (Update)
ECPD Detectives, Patrol Officers and Reserve Officers, assisted by Antioch SWAT, served a search/arrest warrant in Antioch. They arrested a 26 year old male for robbery and a robbery warrant from Oakland PD. They recovered the victim’s cell phone coverage from the residence. An El Cerrito Police Detective interviewed the male at the ECPD and the male confessed to the robbery. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle Report - 3200 block of Belmont Ave
The victims green 2000 Honda Civic was stolen in between January 29th at 1900 hours to January 20th, 2016 at 1000 hours.

Battery Arrest - Central Avenue / Liberty Street
At 1224 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to the report of a battery over a road rage incident. The 34 year old male suspect from Albany stopped, confronted the victim over a honking incident, and punched the victim in the face. The suspect drove away, but was followed by the victim who pointed him out to responding officers. The suspect was placed under citizen’s arrest, was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Battery Report – 11555 San Pablo Ave
At approximately 1233 hours a black female adult, in her 30’s, with bleached blonde hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt punched a woman in the face after yelling at her while they waited in line. The female fled the area in an unknown direction prior to police arrival.

Warrant – Cutting Blvd / I-80:
At 1856 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 55 year old male on a no bail Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to county jail.

Warrant, Possess Controlled Substance, False Name – San Pablo Ave / Ohio Ave:
At 2015 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 24 year old man from Richmond on a no bail Contra Costa County warrant. The man initially lied about his name and was found to be in possession of methamphetamines during a search incident to arrest. He was also identified as one of the suspects who habitually enters the mini mart in the Valero (San Pablo Ave / Knott Ave) and steals merchandise. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to county jail.

DUI, Unlicensed Driver – I-80/Cutting Blvd:
At 2206 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 56 year old male driver for DUI and driving while unlicensed. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Armed Robbery – Wienerschnitzel, 11101 San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 2248 hours, the unknown suspect entered the business as the employees prepared to close. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled northbound San Pablo Avenue. The suspect was described as a light complexioned Asian male in his mid 20s. He was stocky, 5-10, and 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood pulled up over his head, black leather jacket, and blue jeans. He was armed with a black handgun.

January 31st

Shoplifting Arrest – 670 El Cerrito Plaza
At approximately 1542 hours, a 38 year old transient male stole miscellaneous items from the store and fled northbound through the parking lot. The male was detained by an El Cerrito police sergeant behind Pasta Pomodoro. The male was placed under citizen’s arrest, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Stolen Vehicle – 1700 block Liberty Street:
Sometime between 1/28/16 at 1700 hours and 1/31/16 at 1900 hours, the unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2000 Honda Civic.

February 1st

Stolen Vehicle Report – 100 block of Behrens St.
Between 1/31/16 at 2100 hours to 2/01/16 0700 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victims light blue 1999 Honda Civic.

Grand Theft – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At about 1210 hours, the victim left his laptop unattended on a table in the deli and it was stolen by an unknown suspect.

Warrant Arrest – S. 55th Street / Cypress Avenue:
At 1801 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 38 year old male on two no cite Contra Costa County warrants. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Grand Theft – Verizon, 410 El Cerrito Plaza:
At approximately 1840 hours, three suspects entered Verizon, removed 5 cell phones and an iPad from the display and then fled in a silver 4-door vehicle south towards Albany. Suspect-1 was described as a black male, 20-22 years, 6-00, slender build, dark hooded jacket and dark pants. Suspect-2 was described as a black male, 18-19 years, 5-06, slender build, dark hooded jacket and dark pants. Suspect-3 was described as a black male, 19-21 years, 5-08, slender build, black and red plaid hooded jacket and dark pants. Total loss was $3198.

DUI – San Diego St / Yosemite Ave:
At 0004 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 30 year old male from for DUI. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.
