Riverbanks, CA- On February 03, 2016 at approximately 11:35 AM Riverbank Police Services deputies were dispatched to a possession of stolen property investigation in Riverbank. The reporting party called to report that her 17 year-old son had stolen property in his bedroom. Her son also had ammunition in his bedroom which was a violation of his probation. When deputies arrived they contacted the 17 year-old male and found the ammunition, a car stereo and miscellaneous power tools
Deputies conducted a probation search and found prescription pill bottles belonging to someone else. Deputies contacted Modesto Police Department and learned the person on the prescription pill bottles had been the victim of a carjacking in the City of Modesto. Deputies were able to contact the victim and he identified his property and also identified the 17 year-old male as the suspect in his carjacking. Deputies began to search for the victim's vehicle and found it on Lindbrook Drive a few streets away from the juvenile’s residence. The 17 year-old male was booked at Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall for carjacking. The stolen property and vehicle were returned to the owner.
