Missing Person at Risk FOUND SAFE

An 87-year-old Vista man who suffers from Alzheimer's and other health problems was found safe at the back gate of Camp Pendleton in Oceanside. Military Police found Toshio Akita trying to access the base at the San Luis Rey Gate on Tuesday, February 2nd around 4:00 p.m. He will be reunited with his family. Thank you for looking out for Toshio Akita.

The Sheriff's Department wants your help in finding a missing person at risk who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and other health problems.

Take a good look at this photo of 87-year old Toshio Akita. He was last seen around 2:00 a.m. today (February 2nd) at his home in Vista. Akita stands 5'6" tall, weighs about 135 pounds and has grey hair and brown eyes.

He may be driving a dark blue 2004 Honda Accord with California License Plate #5ELJ569. Photos of the car are also attached to this NIXLE message.

He was last seen wearing a grey all-weather jacket. He also wears prescription eye glasses and hearing aids. Akita does not have a cell phone and was not believed to be carrying any money or credit/debit cards with him.

Akita does not have his medications with him, so it's important that he is found as soon as possible.
