We have received several fraud complaints from residents in the past couple of hours. Residents are receiving phone calls from people claiming to be either the IRS or Verizon in an attempt to collect your personal information or financial information. They may threaten law suits and other legal actions if you don't comply with their request. Do not give any financial information or personal information over the phone no matter who the person claims to represent. To further clarify the IRS will not contact residents over the phone regarding financial issues. If you should receive a call resembling the aforementioned situations please hang up. If they persist to contact you please notify the police department.
