The ECPD made two arrests for the armed robbery of a pedestrian which occurred on January 22, 2016.

The ECPD ‘Police Blotter January 22nd – January 28th contained information about an armed robbery which occurred on January 22, 2016.

It was listed as follows:

Armed Robbery – 1700 block Lexington Ave:
At approximately 1809 hours, the victim was walking south on the BART path when she was approached by the suspect. The suspect brandished a handgun, threatened to shoot the victim, and demanded her cell phone. The suspect fled northbound with the victim’s cell phone. The suspect was described as a 20-25 year old black male, 6-04, 175, dark clothing, shoulder length dreads, smooth skin, and medium complexion.

An investigative lead came in days later when we found out that the cell phone belonging to the victim had been sold to a business in Solano County, which buys used cellular phones. That business provided information about the female who sold them the cell phone and a male that was with her at the time, who was similar in appearance to the suspect in the above listed case.

After further investigation, search and arrest warrants were obtained. The address to be searched was in Antioch, CA. The Antioch Police Department provided assistance by way of their SWAT team serving the warrant on January 30th.

The APD detained a total of seven people in the home. All were detained without incident, each was compliant and cooperative. The ECPD interviewed them and determined that five of them had no involvement with this investigation and they were not arrested.

However, two of the people in the home were arrested for their involvement in robbery.

Thomas-Spikes, Kalani a 20 year old female, living in Antioch was booked for:

• Possession of Stolen Property
• Conspiracy
• Robbery

Nash, Jemani a 26 year old male, living in Antioch was booked for:

• Conspiracy
• Robbery
• An outstanding arrest warrant from an unrelated robbery case in Alameda County

At this time, the ECPD will not be releasing photographs of the suspects. We continue investigating the suspects as possibly being involved in other similar crimes.
