Pine Hill PD & Pine Hill School District Collaborate for 2016 National Drug Facts Week events

NATIONAL DRUG FACTS WEEK – 2016

The week of Monday, January 25th is 2016’s National Drug Facts Week.  The Pine Hill Police Department and Pine Hill School District joined this national health observance for teens to help shatter myths about drugs.  During the week’s activities, Ptl. Marino and SRO DiGiacomo spent time teaching L.E.A.D. Lessons at the John Glenn Elementary School, the Dr. Albert Bean Elementary School and the Pine Hill Middle School.  L.E.A.D (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) implements the program “To Good For Drugs” that helps our Officers proactively take a stand against drugs with students by supplying facts directly to students during each session.

On Tuesday January 26, 2016 SRO DiGiacomo met with the 7th and 8th graders of Pine Hill Middle School Student Leadership Team and together they created a banner to be displayed at the entrance to the school. Students worked in different groups researching facts and myths about certain types of drugs. Once that information was gathered students posted the facts and myths on the board and with the assistance of SRO DiGiacomo hung it up for all students  and staff to observe.

Learn more about the National Drug Facts Week and a variety of drug facts to provide your teen or youth at https://teens.drugabuse.gov/national-drug-facts-week or by asking any of the Pine Hill Police Officers in our Community.  To learn more about prevention and addictions please visit one of our biggest partners in the war on drugs, the Camden County Addictions Taskforce at http://addictions.camdencounty.com.  As a community, we are constantly battling drug use and addictions.  Prevention starts with providing facts to our community’s youth of today and tomorrow.  Please join us this week by providing facts to your teen or youth about drugs.
