Late Friday night, January 29, 2016, an alert Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station deputy spotted "Wanted Suspect" Richard Sanchez in Newhall. 29-year-old Richard Sanchez was wanted on Attempt Sexual Assault and Burglary charges stemming from an incident that occurred two weeks ago whereas he entered a Newhall woman's apartment and attempted to sexually assault her. The attack was interrupted by the victim's son.

After the suspect was recognized last night by the deputy, he took off to an unknown location. A containment was subsequently set up in the area and SCV Sheriff deputies enlisted the help of the L.A.S.D. Aero Bureau and K-9 units to aid in the search of the suspect. 

With the collaborative help of the other units, the suspect was successfully taken into custody. Richard Sanchez is being held on Burglary and Sexual Assault Charges.
