*Update*#LASD Missing Person From Llano Has Been Found.
On Friday, January 29, 2016, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Mrs. Alcocer was found by a local resident of Palmdale who had volunteered his time to assist with the search.
Homicide detectives were coordinating their search efforts with Palmdale Deputies and volunteers using the Law Enforcement Arial Platform System (LEAPS) which detects visible and infrared images for tracking.
As they were about to begin their search, Mr. Richard Thompson walked out into the desert about a quarter mile away and located Mrs. Alcocer laying under a bush about a mile away from her home. .
Mrs Alcocer was found in fair condition despite the harsh desert conditions. She was reunited with her husband and transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Missing Persons Detail would like to thank the public, the media, the Palmdale Sheriff’s Department, and LEAPS for their assistance in Mrs. Alcocer’s safe return.

Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Missing Persons Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Elisa Garza Alcocer, an 84 year-old female Hispanic who was last seen by her husband at her residence in Llano, California, on January 26, 2016, at 11:00 A.M.
Mrs. Alcocer is described as 5”03”, 115lbs, has grey hair, brown eyes, and suffers from dementia.
Mrs. Alcocer’s family is very concerned and is also asking for the public’s assistance.
