HMPD arrests man for Breaking and Entering.
On Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at approximately 11:30 am, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the Dollar General on Hope Mills Road in reference to a burglar alarm activation. Upon arrival, Officers found the front door of the business had been broken out and, property had been stolen from the store. Officers were unable to locate the suspects during a search of the area and, the case was forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up investigation. During the course of their investigation, Detectives identified a 16 year old juvenile suspect and another unidentified suspect as being responsible for the crime. On the afternoon of January 27, 2016, Detectives arrested the juvenile and charged him with the break-in. The juvenile was transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was jailed under a $2500.00 bond for the following charges:
1 count of Felony Breaking and Entering
1 count of Felony Larceny
1 count of Felony Conspiracy
1 count of Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely.
