The Upper Macungie Township Police Department has an important message for you! *Suspicious Activity*

On January 26th 2016, UMTPD officers investigated a suspicious activity report in the 6000 block of Chapmans Road.

According to the resident, at appx. 4:30 pm on this date, a male came to her residence and reported that a pipe inside her home was leaking and that she would need to pay him a fee in order for him to repair it. The homeowner asked for identification multiple times but the male refused to provide any. Eventually, the male left the area.

The male was described as a white male in his late 30's, and was appx. 5' 10" tall. The male was stocky and a had a "chin-strap" style beard. Another male, in a black GMC vehicle, waited at the end of the driveway.

A "distraction burglary" is when one subject distracts the homeowner while a second subject makes entry into the home and steals items such as jewelry and cash. Although we can't be positive that this was a burglary attempt in this instance, we find the male subject's behavior odd (his refusal to show ID, especially).

Anyone with information about these two subjects is asked to contact the UMTPD at 484-661-5911, or use the anonymous tip/text line at 610-295-2753.
