January 5th

Grand Theft – 11500 block of San Pablo Ave.
An officer reported an unknown suspect stole several routers and backpacks from a business. The theft occurred in between 1/2/16@ 0900-1/4/16@1700 hours.

Stolen Vehicle – 11200 block of San Pablo Ave.
An officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s black 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. The theft occurred on 1/5/16@1239. The theft was captured on video. The suspect is an African American male, 45-50 year old, wearing a black beanie, dark jacket and blue jeans.

Possession of a controlled substance / Warrant arrest – 10794 San Pablo Ave.
At 1936 hours, an officer was dispatched to Marshall’s after a 30-year-old transient man was found sleeping on a pile of pillows in an aisle. The man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was wanted for four outstanding warrants. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving under the influence / Warrant arrest – Potrero Ave. / I-80
At 2306 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 47-year-old Richmond man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

January 7th

Petty Theft – 3400 Block of Yosemite Ave.
At 1127 hours, officers were dispatched to a theft in progress. The victim advised a male stole his lawn chairs and was still in front of the residence. Officers responded to the location and contacted the 39-year-old homeless male. The victim wanted to pursue prosecution and placed the male under Citizen’s Arrest. The male was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. The male was booked and released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – Liberty St. / Waldo Ln.
At 1518 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the 24-year-old female passenger from Vallejo for an outstanding warrant. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. After booking, she was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – 11300 Block of San Pablo Ave.
At 1528 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 25-year-old male from Richmond. The officer conducted a records check and discovered the male had an outstanding warrant. The male was taken into custody and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. After booking, the male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

January 8th

Auto Burglary – Nations, 6060 Central Ave:
At 2223 hours, the suspect smashed the victim’s window and stole a bag containing cheerleading clothing, a checkbook, and first aid kit. The suspect was driving an older model 2-door maroon vehicle with a sunroof. There was no description of the suspect.

Fictitious Driver License / Unlicensed Driver – San Pablo Ave / Moeser Lane:
At 1933 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 25 year old Richmond man for possession of a fictitious California Driver License bearing his picture and personal information and another person’s driver license number. The man had never been issued a California driver license. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on his signed promise to appear.

Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 0336 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 62 year old male driver from Novato for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on his signed promise to appear.

January 9th

Commercial Burglary - 1000 EC Plaza:
At 0827 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft at Lucky’s which occurred last night at approximately 2300 hours, a black male adult, approximately 40 years old, wearing a black baseball cap, black pants and a short black male adult, approximately 40 years old, wearing a white jacket and white baseball cap entered the store and made their way to the back stock area. They then stole over $1000.00 in alcoholic beverages and fled the store on foot.

Grand Theft - 800 Block Arlington Blvd.
An officer responded to the report that in between 1/1/16, at 2100 hours and 1/2/16 at 0800 hours and unidentified suspect stole a porcelain flower statue valued at $1500.

Public Intoxication / Probation Violation – Elevation 66, 10082 San Pablo Ave:
At 1817, an officer responded to an unwanted person call and arrested a 61 year old female from El Cerrito for public intoxication and violating her probation which prohibits her from consuming alcohol. She was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving Under the Influence – Central Ave / Belmont Ave:
At 0109 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 23 year old female driver from Richmond for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on her signed promise to appear.

Warrant – Carlson Blvd / Adams:
At 0155 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 34 year old man from Berkeley on an Alameda County Warrant. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on his signed promise to appear.

Driving Under the Influence, Suspended Driver License – San Pablo Ave / Potrero Ave:
At 0204 hours, An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 27 year old male driver from San Pablo for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on his signed promise to appear.

Driving Under the Influence– San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0330 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 23 year old male driver from Richmond for driving under the influence of alcohol DUI. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on his signed promise to appear.

January 10th

Warrant / Possess Controlled Substance – Carlson Blvd / Santa Clara Ave:
At 2001 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 58 year old female from San Jose on a no bail Santa Clara county warrant. She was found to be in possession of powder cocaine during a search incident to arrest. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on her signed promise to appear on the drug charges and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility on the warrant.

Commercial Burglary – KFC, 10175 San Pablo Ave (Beat 10):
At 0116 hours, officers responded to an alarm at KFC and found the back door open. The business was cleared and no suspects located inside. It was determined the unknown suspect smashed the front door window, entered the business, broke into two cash registers and fled with a third, and likely exited out the back door.

January 11th

Attempt Petty Theft from Vehicle – Tulare Ave. / Charles Ave.
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlock vehicle and rummaged through it. No property loss reported. The theft occurred between 1/10 at 1600 hours and 1/11 at 0640 hours.

Stolen Vehicle – 2600 Block of Tamalpais Dr.
An officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2005 4-door silver Toyota Camry. The theft occurred between 1/10/16 at 1800 hours and 1/11/16 at 0715 hours

Petty Theft / Public intoxication – 11344 San Pablo Ave.
At 1030 hours, officers were dispatched to a theft that had just occurred. Dispatch advised a deputy from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office was flagged down by a victim who witnessed a male steal his bicycle. The deputy detained the male and called for an El Cerrito officer to respond. During the investigation, the El Cerrito officer determined the male was under the influence of alcohol and the victim wanted to place the male under citizen’s arrest. The officer accepted the citizen’s arrest and transported the 29-year-old transient male to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After the male was booked, he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Petty Theft – 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 0916 hours, an officer was patrolling in the area when she was flagged down in regards to a theft that had just occurred. An employee at Walgreens advised a male had concealed merchandise in his backpack and left the store without paying. The male was last seen running towards the Del Norte BART station. Officers circulated the area and did not locate the male.

Residential Burglary – 7000 Block of Cutting Blvd.
An officer reported the victim inadvertently left her garage door opened. An unknown suspect entered the garage and removed property from an unsecured vehicle. The burglary occurred in between 1215 hours and 1330 hours.

Stolen Vehicle – 500 Block of Lexington Ave.
An officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s blue 4-door, 1996 Honda Civic. The theft occurred in between 1/10/16 at 2200 hours and 1/11/16 at 0600 hours.

Residential Burglary – 1300 Block of Richmond St.
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence via an unsecured side window and stole property. The burglary occurred in between 1430 hours and 1630 hours.

Possession of a controlled substance / Possession of paraphernalia – Fairmount Ave. / San Pablo Ave.
At 0228 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 40-year-old Emeryville man for possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
