Advisory

Be aware of door to door and phone scams targeting Monterey Park residents.

The Monterey Park Police Department has received several phone calls from concerned citizens of possible door to door sales people representing the City of Monterey Park. Residents have also received phone calls stating the same.

The Monterey Park Police Department asks that if you are contacted by a person(s) claiming that they represent the city ask to see their city identification. Also call the Police Departments non-emergency phone line to report the incident. Officers will contact these individuals to verify if they in fact have permission to conduct business in the city.

If you are contacted over the phone, do not give them any personal information and ask for a call back number. This will help the police department in tracking down the individuals that called you. The City of Monterey Park will not contact you to solicit home repairs over the phone. The individuals will use scare tactics claiming that you may be subject to a fine if certain repairs are not made. This is false.

If you have any questions or concerns contact the Monterey Park Police Department and report any suspicious activity.
Non-emergency phone number (626) 573-1311. "If you see something, say something!"
