In response to forecast moderate to major coastal flooding, the Barnegat Office of Emergency Management and Barnegat Police Department are recommending that all residents between the Barnegat Municipal Bathing Beach and the East Bay Avenue Bridge evacuate the area no later than 6:00PM on Friday, January 22^nd .

Flooding will likely make Bayshore Drive in the area of the bathing beach impassable to vehicles. Residents who remain behind may find themselves without power and unable to leave the area until floodwaters recede sometime late Sunday.
