Advisory

Sheriff Victor Hill's "Scared Straight" Program Designed To Save Clayton County's Youth From Jail.

Sheriff Victor Hill's Scared Straight Program is available for citizens who live in Clayton County to help save our kids from going to jail. This program lets kids experience the para-military toughest jail in Georgia in order to discourage them making bad decisions that could land them there. Only the legal parents of the child can sign them up for this program and a waiver must be signed.

When kids are suspended from school, Sheriff Victor Hill also allows parents to come sign a waiver so that the kids will spend the days of suspension at the Sheriff's Office instead of staying home unsupervised. This is a day of hard labor washing patrol vehicles, cleaning bathrooms, and eating punishment jail food. If we are able to deter our youth from a life of crime and prison, this is another way to keep crime in Clayton County as the lowest in the 5 metro counties.

If you are a Clayton County resident and would like to enroll your child in the scared straight program, please email Deputy Keith Carter at [email protected].
