PRESS RELEASE: Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Incident: Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: Central Park located at Kiely Blvd. and Benton St.

Summary:
On Tuesday, January 12th at 9:15pm, a female victim was robbed and assaulted with a deadly weapon at Central Park in Santa Clara. A male suspect approached the female victim in the park near the pond. The suspect then stabbed the victim multiple times with a sharp instrument. The suspect then stole the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The suspect then fled the area on foot.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for her injuries. The injuries appear not to be life-threatening.

SUSPECT’S PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Hispanic male adult approximately 20-22 years old with a medium brown complexion and no accent. He was 5’6”-5’7” tall with a thin build. He had no facial hair and wavy shoulder length dark brown hair and eyes. He had sunken cheeks and obvious cheek bones. He also was described as having a thin nose, chin and lips. He did not appear to be a transient. Please see sketch for rendering.

SUSPECT’S CLOTHING DESCRIPTION:
The suspect was wearing a light-colored, beige hooded sweatshirt (beach style with an obvious heavy thread and weave pattern and possibly a front pocket). He was also wearing dark grey or black “shiny” pants (possibly basketball warm-up type). This person possibly smokes.
