Type of Incident: Concealed Firearm in a vehicle, possession of loaded firearm inside vehicle,possession of firearm with altered serial numbers, possession of concentrate Cannabis, providing false identification to a police officer, participation in a street gang and warrant arrest.

Details: On Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 12:39 PM, CPD officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the 900 block of Oregon Avenue. Officers contacted the driver, who was later identified as Elijah Wesley, however he initially provided a false name. The passenger also provided a false name to officers, but he was ultimately identified as Hector Garcia. Officers detected the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle and both subjects were detained. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a loaded handgun was located underneath the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The firearm was determined to have altered serial numbers. Officers also located approximately 3.9 grams of concentrate Cannibis inside the vehicle.

Wesley was determined to have five active felony warrants from the state of Virginia for robbery and burglary offenses with full extradition. Garcia was also determined to be an active gang member and was
also charged with participation in a criminal street gang. Wesley and Garcia were both arrested and later transported and booked at the Kings County Jail.
